Established in 2002 by John Abbott, Abbott Risk Consulting (ARC) is an award-winning Safety, Engineering and Risk Management Consultancy providing services to high hazard industries including the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas and Chemicals, Renewables and Transport sectors. They employ over 150 full-time safety and risk consultants and have offices throughout the UK and Australia.
THE CHALLENGE
ARC traditionally used an in-house IT manager to support their infrastructure and staff. As the company grew several factors contributed to them looking for a managed IT Services partner to replace their in-house function.
- ARCs growing presence in Australia required access to 24/7 support due to the time difference.

THE RESULTS
Certum’s Managed IT Support Service resulted in a seamless transition from traditional in-house IT to a managed service. Due to our constant drive for customer satisfaction the staff at ARCs UK locations noticed improved response and resolution times to standard day to day calls, the Australia offices were delighted that they could now receive support within their hours of work, no more staying late or starting early to get access to support.
The first stages of the new roadmap have been implemented with changes to the current 365 and Azure implementations to make them more secure and functional and further enhancements and reviews are planned.
We now monitor and audit all aspects of their infrastructure. By keeping a comprehensive eye on their systems availability, health, and performance we ensure ARC remains productive and that there are no nasty surprises down the road.
